The Affordable Warmth Scheme is Northern Ireland's main energy efficiency programme, administered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE). It provides grants of up to £7,500 (or £10,000 for solid wall insulation) for eligible households.

Who qualifies?

You may qualify for the Affordable Warmth Scheme if you:

  • Have a household income below £23,000 per year
  • Or have income below £40,000 if receiving certain disability or sickness-related benefits
  • Own and occupy the property, or are a private tenant (with landlord consent)
  • Live in Northern Ireland
Important: ECO4 is not available in Northern Ireland
